The Psychological Health Center of Excellence conducts research and analyzes available data to inform evidence-based psychological health practices in the Military Health System. Our work in this area promotes evidence-based clinical practices and policies, facilitates the implementation of effective treatments and methods of care, and identifies gaps in research and clinical knowledge to inform future research directions. In this section, you’ll find a variety of reports that provide the results of our evidence synthesis and research gaps analysis, including:
- Psych Health Evidence Briefs — summaries of the available scientific evidence and clinical guidance on existing and potential treatments for psychological health conditions commonly experienced by service members
- Rapid Reviews — summaries of available evidence on topics pertinent to informing health care decisions in a timely manner
- Evidence Synthesis — comprehensive and rigorous syntheses of the available evidence to address specific psychological health questions relevant to service members and their care
- Psychological Health Research Gaps — reports identifying gaps in psychological health research to inform and prioritize MHS research and funding to areas of greatest need and potential for impact
Also in this section you can find information on:
- The Practice-Based Implementation Network, a joint initiative of the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, established in 2012 to bridge the gap between psychological health research and clinical practice
- PHCoE’s Health Services and Population Research, which accesses and analyzes large health and administrative datasets to inform research tasks and implementation efforts in the MHS in addition to supporting stakeholder and collaborator research efforts
- Psychological Health by the Numbers, which describes PHCoE’s analytics services to provide relevant, timely, and actionable information that supports evidence-based decision-making to improve psychological health care in the MHS
