The NICoE Research Booklet is a brief account of our FY20 research portfolio, which comprises a wide range of studies aimed toward characterizing TBI and associated psychological health conditions and, in some cases, addressing their long-term impacts. These studies—to include retrospective, observational, and treatment studies--employ a host of tools and techniques to assess patient outcomes, including biomarker discovery, advanced neuroimaging, and an array of cognitive and emotional assessments.
As the NICoE and the Defense Intrepid Network for TBI and Brain Health evolve, so do the interdisciplinary research teams interested in exploring the more pressing symptoms affecting service members with a history of TBI.
