The Brain Fitness Center is a supplemental care option that gives patients access to:
- Computer brain-training programs
- Heart rate variability biofeedback
- Mind-body classes
Patients can personalize their brain exercise program by working with providers to establish:
- Goals
- Visit frequency
- Length of sessions
Available computer programs target brain functions such as memory, attention, and processing speed. Brain training programs are an excellent resource for service members who will be discharged and want to continue to make progress on their treatment goals.
One of the goals of the Brain Fitness Center is to study the effects of these programs within the military population by developing and implementing research protocols. All eligible Brain Fitness Center patients have the opportunity to participate in research studies.
Eligibility
The Brain Fitness Center is open to activity-duty service members and their beneficiaries. If you are interested in participating in the Brain Fitness Center, contact your TBI case manager or primary care provider.
