Cancer Canal

Cancers that develop in the ear canal or immediate surrounding area such as squamous cell, basal cell, melanoma, adenocarcinoma, and others. The skin of the ear canal or external ear is the most common location for cancer of the ear to develop. These cancers may only involve the ear canal; however, they may spread to involve middle ear structures such as the:

  • Eardrum.
  • Three middle ear bones (ossicles).
  • Bony structure behind the ear (mastoid).
  • Inner ear organs of hearing and balance.
