Eligibility for dental services is based upon service component guidance to the Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP). Dental services include:
- Exam Indication: All Service members without a current dental exam within the past nine months will usually receive a new dental exam.
- Health History: Service member completes health history.
- Bitewing X-Rays: Taken with every dental exam.
- Blood pressure: Will be recorded for every dental exam.
- Panoramic X-ray (pano): No time requirement, to be taken if no pano is in the dental record, if significant change has occurred since the last one, or if deploying.
- Dental Examination: Each Service member will be seen by a licensed dentist.
- Review of Health History and appropriate x-ray(s).
- Periodontal Screening and Recording (PSR).
- Charting of all dental disease. Classification designated.
- Original exam documents entered into Service member’s record.
- Exam QA: Dental exams and ancillary documents are shipped to RHRP and reviewed. After review completed documents are mailed back to Service Member’s (SM) Medical Unit
- Digital Storage: All copies of records are digitized and stored within the dental system of record.
