DoD OEND Program Mission: Reduce harm and risk of life-threatening opioid-related overdose and deaths among Service members, their families, and retirees. Program Goal: Increase availability and use of naloxone

Based on the success of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)’s Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND) Program, the Defense and Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM) has replicated a program with similar goals and key components tailored to the Military Health System (MHS) population.

Resources for implementing the OEND program at your MTF are available on the “For Champions & Trainers” page.
