Virtual Education Center

The Defense Health Agency’s Virtual Education Center, contains more than 50,000 education resources covering 60 medical topics, giving patients using a mobile device or computer with internet access to validated health and medical information when they need it. The VEC gives patients the power to research health issues in advance of meeting with their providers ensuring better quality appointments and medical outcomes.

After a successful launch at Brooke Army Medical Center in 2023 and getting feedback from providers and patients, the VEC was then made available at hospitals and clinics in the Pacific Northwest before giving access to providers and patients at all Military Health System hospitals and clinics earlier this year.

Health care providers can send case-specific medical information directly to patients by email. Patients can research medical conditions, ways to stay healthy, and develop their own personal dashboard.

After logging in, patients have access to training materials, including How-to-Videos, informational slides, and step-by-step instructions. This initiative supports DHA’s Strategic Plan by providing its 9.5 million patients with a secure, validated educational resource.

Give the VEC a try and take command of your health care today.
