We’re changing the Military Health System. We’re improving the health care we provide to our warfighters, retirees, and their families. And we’re improving our force readiness.
Our reform efforts focus on organizational, infrastructure, and manpower changes. Our priorities are to support:
- Our Joint Force by making sure they’re medically ready to deploy.
- Medical professionals by increasing opportunities to improve their clinical skills.
- Beneficiaries with access to quality care.
We are becoming more:
- Flexible
- Adaptable
- Effective
- Integrated
We are using decades of best practices from across the Army, Navy, and Air Force to build a stronger and more connected MHS.
Electronic Health Record
MHS GENESIS is our electronic health record. We recently deployed it to all military hospitals and clinics.
Defense Health Networks
The Defense Health Agency continues to mature our organizational alignment and processes. This is to meet federally mandated requirements. This includes NDAA FY17-23.
On Oct. 1, 2023, the DHA moved from 20 markets to nine Defense Health Networks. These are supported by Defense Health Support Activities. This advancement aligns every facility to a Defense Health Network.
