CDR (Dr.) Jeremy K. Ramsey

Director for Professional Education and Director for Force Development

U.S. Navy CDR (Dr.) Jeremy K. Ramsey is a native of Turlock, California. He entered U.S. Naval service in 2005 as part of the Health Professions Scholarship Program while attending the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He attended Officer Indoctrination School in 2005 in Newport, Rhode Island. CDR Ramsey then graduated from the University of Southern California with a medical degree in 2008 and entered active duty service at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton as a family practice intern and resident.

After completing his residency, CDR Ramsey was assigned to Fleet Surgical Team Nine at Naval Station San Diego, San Diego, California as the Deputy Commander, Amphibious Task Force surgeon and family physician. CDR Ramsey was tasked with a deployment aboard USS Essex as the medical flagship during Rim of the Pacific Exercises 2011 and as the lead medical planner for Pacific Partnership 2013. This was followed by a return to training as a Fellow in the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.

CDR Ramsey’s previous assignments include staff physician and senior medical officer Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida. In 2016 CDR Ramsey was selected as the Command Clinical Champion for Osteoarthritis as part of the Surgeon General’s Value Based Care initiative. He then served as a staff physician and Chair, Medical Executive Committee at Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms, Twentynine Palms, California.

CDR Ramsey’s executive assignments include Director for Branch Clinics, Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms, Twentynine Palms, California and program director for the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, Camp Pendleton, California. He currently serves at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton as the Designated Institutional Official for four Graduate Medical and Dental education programs and as the Director for Professional Education and Director for Force Development.

CDR Ramsey is a board-certified family physician with a certificate of added qualification in primary care sports medicine. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

CDR Ramsey’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (one gold star).
