Please join us for the Fourth Military Health System and Military OneSource COVID-19 Townhall!

April 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. ET

Lt. Col. Matthew T. Swingholm, Armed Services Blood Program, will be providing information about the current state of the blood program, and the impact of COVID-19 on blood donations.  He'll also discuss who can donate to the blood program, and how soon after receiving the vaccine or COVID-19 you can donate blood.

Military OneSource will host DHA experts, allowing them the opportunity to address various topics related to COVID-19, such as:

  • Available vaccines and their distribution, safety, and efficacy
  • Scheduling appointments within the Military Health System

Armed Services Blood Program

Since 1962, the Armed Services Blood Program has served as the sole provider of blood for the United States military. As a tri-service organization, the ASBP collects, processes, stores and distributes blood and blood products to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and their families worldwide. This directive designates the Secretary of the Army as the DOD Executive Agent for the Armed Services Blood Program Office (ASBPO) (Reference (h)), who exercises this authority through the Surgeon General of the Army, in accordance with DoDD 5101.1 (Reference (d)).
